At birth, the size of the head is one quarter the size. Head circumference is about 35.5 cm. It will increase dramatically during the first months of life your baby.

The skull of feeding consists of several bones which edges meet to form sutures. These bones leaving a depression in front and back called fontanelle. Both fontanelles gradually closing around the age of one year or more. This explains some strain suffered during childbirth or contraction of the muscles of the uterus.
